Angela is a native Austrian and did her Bachelor and Master degree in physics at the Technical University of Graz with Markus Aichhorn. The topic of her master thesis was „How to design a material in silico: From crystal structure prediction to correlated material properties of FeS".
Angela has an extensive proficiency in applying DFT and Machine Learning techniques in materials discovery and the broader field of materials science and is keen to apply and deepen her knowledge for the acceleration of large scale atomistic modeling. She would also like to expand her expertise in the development of machine learning methods and the creation of machine learning
potentials.
In our research group, she will work in the Cluster of Excellence "Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage". The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) provides this research funding, which is by far the most highly endowed in Austria, for major scientific projects at the highest international level in particularly promising areas.
