The "Spezialforschungsbereich Vienna Computational Materials Laboratory" ("SFB ViCoM") is a Special Research Area on Computational Materials Science, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and managed mainly by researchers of the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. It run between 2010 and 2019, and completed very successfully after 9 years with more than 500 published papers.

The research of the "SFB ViCoM" was mainly focused on an improved description of electronic correlation in solids. The newly developed methods have be applied to cutting-edge materials research using state-of-the-art multi scale methods. The total funding of the "SFB ViCoM" amounted to about 8 million euros.
